WHO IS SUEDE BRAIN?
AND WHAT IS HEAVY BOOGIE?
Born out of the tradition of the loud, raw, raunchy rock’n’roll the Motor City is known for, Suede Brain captures the grit and resilience of the working class that built the nation. Consisting of brothers Steve and Danny Rief and bassist CJ Carpenter, the trio is emerging as the next link in the chain of Detroit natives who came before - The Stooges, MC5, The White Stripes.
Delivering an electric, full-body sound, the group embodies the phrase “It might get loud.” Devoted to the pure power of rock’n’roll, the three prophets produce a wicked stage presence with dirty riffs, unrestrained passion, and cutting lyrics. They deliver uniquely unhinged performances, and maintain the same relentless spirit in the recording studio. Heavy handed, heavy loaded, with a lead foot on the gas with no intention of letting up.
Heavy Boogie [ˈhevē bo͝oɡē]: a style of rock’n’roll music based in boogie-woogie blues and characterized by high-energy, raw instrumentation, repetitive, driving guitar-driven rhythm, fast tempo, and intense vocals.
